Robert Blain House

Robert Blain (1843-1926) built this one and one half story, hall-parlor house in 1883. The house has a rear addition and one third of the porch is enclosed. The exterior, shiplap siding was locally planed by Ole Peterson (1849-1911). Robert Blain, a brother of John Blain (1850-1923) was from England and was married to Jane Slack (1843-1926) and Melissa Barney (1857-1945). He was a farmer and eventually became manager of the Spring City Co-op Store. He was also a school trustee, postmaster, and partner in the Baxter & Blain Mercantile at 190 North Main Street.
