Knighton-Roper House

It is thought that Edward G. Knighton may have built this house in 1899. This small home made of coursed, cut oolite stone has a cross-wing plan, front porch and angular corners on the main wing. These are typical features of Victorian cottages. Aside from the decorative shingles in the gable, the home has little ornament. Yet its straightforward design is appealing. Nothing is yet known about the history of this charming house.
