Annual Bald Eagle Day

This is a wonderful family activity that gives you a chance to view bald eagles in their natural setting. Watch them soar the sky and hunt in the fields. Spotting scopes will be set up. Driving map of Sanpete Valley will be given out, highlighting the best areas to view the eagles. There will be displays, pamphlets; volunteers and biologists will be available to answer questions. Bring Binoculars and cameras, however, a high power telephoto lens is a must if you choose to photograph, so the birds aren’t disturbed. The best times to see the greatest number of eagles is usually from 2 to 4 o’clock. Dress warmly and wear water proof boots. 445-3472

Amasa E. Merriam, Sr. Family "An Honor Day Tribute"

Amasa Edwin Merriam, Sr. born in New York. Moved to Kirtland, Ohio in 1836 then to Nauvoo. At 14 Amasa drove a team across the plains to winter quarters and later from there to Salt Lake Valley, and yet again to come to Manti in 1849. He was a pony express rider between Utah & California. He met his sweetheart Olive Diana Lytle in California. He was active in community affairs. He died Feb. 1, 1897 and is buried in Manti City Cemetery.

Felicity Fair, down trodden heroine, is a nurse sent to the Larkfield mansion to attend a hard hearted society matron who is pretending to be ill to force her son, Malvern, to marry the scheming Nella Hargrave. Malvern takes one look at Felicity and falls in love. When Malvern proposes he is unaware that villain Cyril Bothingwell is behind a screen listening. Felicity sadly informs Malvern that she can never marry. Five years ago she was in a train wreck and cannot remember a thing that happened prior to the wreck. She doesn’t even know her real name. Cyril tells Felicity that she is his wife but Cryil’s nefarious schemes are thwarted to the delight of all.

Begin your Christmas celebration at the Mt. Pleasant Old Fashioned Christmas and Downtown Lighting Celebration
The fun begins at 4 pm. with Mr. & Mrs. Santa, entertainment from the schools, free hay rides, free tickets for prize drawings, food booths, free game booths, free Cookies and Hot Chocolate. Games and prizes for the kids.
At 5 pm. Prize drawing begins and will continue every 20 minutes.
A6 6 pm. The lights will be turned on with music and Fireworks! Activities will continue until 7 pm.
