City Cemetery

Description:

Many of Manti’s earliest settlers are buried in this cemetery. Most of the older graves are in the central part. The leader of the first settlers, Isaac Morely, is buried here, as is William Fowler, author of the well-known hymn “We Thank Thee, O God, for a Prophet”. You will find many gravestones of babies and young children. There are also graves of pioneers who were killed by Indians and graves of Indians.

Established in 1849 there are 14,000 plots, 7,000 burials.
