Mt. Pleasant Carnegie Library

Description:

This library is Sanpete’s most excellent example of Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired Prairie Style architecture; in fact, it is one of the best examples in the state. Its broad emphasis, low pitched hip roof, brick banding, interlocking of vertical and horizontal massing and unique detailing are typical of the style. The Carnegie Library was built in 1917, funded by a $10,000 grant from millionaire/philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.
