Yuba State Park

I'd Rather be Playing! on June 30th, 2008

I went with a church youth group to Yuba State Park this past weekend. We camped at the Painted Rocks Campground on the east side of the reservoir. The Campground is located on top of a hill and overlooks the water. The campground has only been open a year or two and is fairly nice. There are fire pits, pavilions and tables, running water, and bathrooms. Unfortunately there aren’t any showers and not a lot of shade.

There were 40+ youth and adults that came with 5 boats. By noon on the second day, Saturday, my boat’s gas tank was almost empty. Since there were other boats in the group I decided to keep pulling kids until I completely ran out of gas. Right in the middle of my turn to ride the molecule the boat stopped and one of the other boats towed me in. Overall it was a great trip! This video shows the campground.
