Just wanted to drop a line and say how wonderful the bike riding is in Sanpete County. I started riding both mountain and road bikes this year and have loved every minute of it. The air is fresh accept for the turkey and livestock smell! The skys are a beautiful blue without the smog and pollution that come with more populated areas. I road in the Salt Lake Century, the Ulcer around Utah Lake and the Tour de St. George this year. They we all enjoyable but the highlight of the year were my training rides anywhere from Palisade State Park Golf Course to Milburn on the beautiful east side of Sanpete County. These rides took me up beautiful canyons and gave beautiful vistas of the valley bellow. I believe there are 2 organized bike rides in Sanpete County next year and I am looking forward to participating in them.

I took the family golfing for the first time of the season a week ago at Palisade State Park. My in-laws were in town and they came too. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and it was a little chilly. It wasn’t the best day golfing but it was good to get out on the course. My golf swing was a little rusty but I did OK. The grass on the course was still semi-dormant from the winter so the conditions were still average. I suspect that with 70+ degree weather this week the course will green up quick.
We golfed the front 9 holes so my in-laws could try hole #4, the “Gorge Shot”. I over shot the green from the white tee box (159 Yards) and landed up in the rocks. Fortunately my father-in-law found my ball. I think he teed off twice and may have lost both balls. It is a difficult hole because there really is no fairway, just a gorge with a narrow green.
